Descriptif du bien
19TH CENTURY CHATEAU IN AN ENVIRONMENTAL HAVEN 60 KM FROM PARIS - 100 hectares of undisturbed land, a late 19th-century château in its original state, awaiting restoration, superb grounds, century-old trees, no disturbance, extremely rare and beautiful Rosicrucian initiation cave. Milly-la-Forêt, Essonne, ÃŽle-de-France.
Built for a famous 19th-century composer who performed druidic scenes for King Louis-Philippe at the Tuileries in 1846, this property offers a sumptuous, rolling park punctuated by viewpoints and spectacular access, a large reflecting pool, and superb century-old trees. The residence has remained intact since its origins and presents all its decorative elements, but requires complete restoration. In the 100-hectare, partially enclosed park, there is an exceptional Rosicrucian grotto and a monumental Sacré-Coeur perched on a hill.
Passing through the beautiful entrance gate, one spectacularly discovers the house on the hill opposite, 300 meters away.
The late 19th-century Louis XIII-style brick and stone château is in its original state and has never been restored; it retains all its original features. The architecture consists of a central brick and stone building with a Mansard-style broken attic, with a large central staircase offering a splendid view of the park, and two wings on either side.
The grand hall, which opens onto the park through a large double glass door, features a marble floor with cabochon accents, a grand staircase with an Art Nouveau cast iron balustrade, moldings and an Art Nouveau painted ceiling, and thistle-patterned fabrics. Two large double doors open onto the double living room on one side and the dining room on the other. The large double living room is decorated with herringbone flooring, moldings, wainscoting, and a large bay window.
The dining room features a Louis XIV-style marble fireplace, wainscoting, moldings, draped fabrics, and double doors opening onto the pantry and kitchen. The pantry features a buffet and cement tile flooring.
The generously sized kitchen features a cast iron stove, cement tile flooring, two stone sinks, and a hand pump.
On the first floor, there are eight bedrooms, some with Art Nouveau wallpaper and marble fireplaces, and two bathrooms.
On the second floor, there are eight bedrooms.
In the grounds, halfway up the south-facing slope, there are U-shaped outbuildings, stables with beautiful stalls on paved ground, a barn, and living quarters. Exceptional and extremely rare land complex of 100 hectares, including 60 hectares of a partially enclosed block around the castle, and 40 hectares on the other side of the road. Free hunting is permitted.
A mirror-like pond facing the castle, creating a dramatic effect from the gate.
Superb parkland with century-old trees, oaks, acacia, chestnut, copper beech, linden, and yew.
Guard house in good condition, large living room, kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms, large room, and lean-to.
Rare and very beautiful Rosicrucian initiation cave, richly worked with light-filled stones, monolithic pebble table, apse with ogival arches, and punctuated with Christian symbols. This natural cave was probably created in the 19th century by the composer who built the property. He performed Druidic scenes for King Louis-Philippe at the Tuileries in 1846, demonstrating his interest in this 19th-century spiritual and artistic movement.
A monumental Sacré Coeur at the top of the hill opposite, renowned for its protection against infertility.
